The book blogger inside tag!

No Friday Five today, so here’s another tag! I saw this one over at @Adele Is Reading a couple of weeks ago and decided to save it and take it over. It provides you an inside at what happens behind the blog. So, here we go.

WHERE DO YOU TYPICALLY WRITE YOUR BLOG POSTS?
Mainly at home, in my bedroom. Blogging on a computer is the easiest. However, I sometimes write/edit at work, during (short) breaks. This is mostly limited to minor edits, because the big writing happens for 99% at home. In fact, I have to work with WordPress at work as well and I’d like to test features which are new to me on my own blog first. If I mess things up, it’s my own problem and I’m not ruining the company’s website.

HOW LONG DOES IT GENERALLY TAKE YOU TO WRITE A BOOK REVIEW?
It generally takes me 10 to 15 minutes, it really depends. However, this is a very rough guess, because I never keep track of the actual time. It took me longer before, but I have UBB (Ultimate Book Blogger) now and this plugin is the best.

WHEN DID YOU START YOUR BOOK BLOG?
In February 2017. I started on free WordPress but hated it. Therefore, I moved to Blogger. However, I was not able to export/import from WordPress so had to transfer everything manually. I went self-hosted this April and thankfully was able to transfer everything from Blogger automatically.

WHAT IS THE WORST THING ABOUT HAVING A BOOK BLOG IN YOUR OPINION?
trying to keep up with your fellow bloggers. Don’t get me wrong, I try my best, but I feel like missing out on all the new books and staying behind. I know there’s no pressure and such, but still.

WHAT IS THE BEST THING ABOUT HAVING A BOOK BLOG IN YOUR OPINION?
Sounds a little clich├ę maybe, but the book community. And finding new books through reviews of fellow bloggers.

WHICH BLOG POST HAVE YOU HAD THE MOST FUN WRITING SO FAR?
Hmmmm this is a tough one. So many posts were fun! But I guess some of the book tags.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE TYPE OF BLOG POST TO WRITE?
I think the tags as well, because they often contain challenging questions. Besides, I recently started taking part in The Friday Five and that’s also an interesting meme to write.

WHEN DO YOU TYPICALLY WRITE?
Whenever I can, but it often turns out to be at night. Sometimes in the morning or afternoon as well, but mainly at night.

DO YOU REVIEW EVERY BOOK YOU READ?
I used to do so yes, but some books are really hard to review. This mainly goes for non-fiction. My reviews of these books lack quality or are boring, so I quit writing them. Same for books with not much plot as well.

HOW DO YOU WRITE YOUR BOOK REVIEWS? WITH A CUP OF COFFEE OR TEA? WITH NETFLIX? CUDDLED WITH YOUR FUR BABY?
None of these, with music on.

WHEN DO YOU WRITE YOUR BOOK REVIEWS? RIGHT AFTER FINISHING THE BOOK? TWO WEEKS AFTER FINISHING THE BOOK?
I immediately upload all the information into UBB, so the drafts are already there. I write my review asap after finishing the book. I don’t want them lingering around for too long, because I will forget what I wanted to discuss.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU POST?
LOL I don’t have a set schedule. Only my Wednesday and Friday posts are fixed, but the others whenever they are ready. Therefore it happens that there will be more posts a week one time and less another. I don’t want to have a strict blogging schedule because that doesn’t work for me at all. I just publish whenever i want to, without having the pressure of NEEDING to publish.

This was the book blogger inside tag. I’m not tagging anybody specifically, consider yourselves tagged. If you take this over, please leave a pinback to my blog, so I can see your answers!
