This book tag, done by Nicola @Fantastic Book Dragon, popped into my reader whilst bloghopping. I liked this tag and immediately decided to do it. It’s time to get festive, isn’t it?
On the first day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: a partridge in a pear tree.
The partridge stood alone in the pear tree. What is your favorite stand alone?
I have several books to choose from, but for this question I will probably end up with Kids Of Appetite by David Arnold. He came to YALFest NL in 2017 and if it wasn’t for this event, I probably might not have picked up this book.
On the second day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: two turtle doves.
Love is in the air! Who is your one true pairing?
This question is a tough one, but I have to say Scarlet and Wolf from The Lunar Chronicles. Their alfa relationship is kind of cute and awesome.
On the third day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: Three French Hens.
In the spirit of threes, what is the best trilogy you have read?
A Court Of Thorns And Roses. Yes, this one was the first that came into mind.
On the fourth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: four calling birds.
Since series usually consist of four or more books, what is your favourite series?
Vampire Academy, Bloodlines, The Lunar Chronicles. Chosing between these is rather painful.
On the fifth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: five golden rings.
One ring to rule them all! Who is your Favorite Villain/Antagonist?
Since villains are mainly the bad guys and girls, I will choose an antagonist. Then I might say Tamlin. He does literally everything to make it harsh on Feyre, but he helps her out when it’s really necessary.
On the sixth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: six geese a laying.
Creation is a beautiful thing. What is your favourite world/world-building?
Probably Prythian. Or Hogwarts.
On the seventh day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: seven swans a swimming.
Who needs seven swans when all it takes is one good animal sidekick? Who’s your favourite animal sidekick?
Again, I can’t choose between two. Abraxos or Reigis (Spellslinger series).
On the eighth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me: eight maids a milking.
Milk is so 18th century. Which book or series takes beverages/food to a whole new level?
I got so hungry whilst reading The Selection, because well…… CAKES GALORE.
On the ninth day of Christmas my true love sent to me: nine ladies dancing.
Dancing is just one skill of a Lady! Who is your favourite kickass female lead?
Celaena Sardothien or Scarlet Benoit. Again, hard to decide.
On the tenth day of Christmas my true love sent to me: ten lords a leaping.
How about your favourite leading lad?
Super cliché, but Rhysand. No explanation needed, has he?
On the eleventh day of Christmas my true love sent to me: eleven pipes piping.
What is your favourite book or bookish thing with musical influence? (It can be about music, reference music a lot etc.)
I would go with I Was Born For This since it was the first YA contemporary I really enjoyed after a very long while.
On the twelfth day of Christmas my true love sent to me: 12 drummers drumming.
Drum roll please…what is your favourite read of this year?
Really?! This is too hard. Well, I would either pick Children Of Blood And Bone or The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo.
