Bookending Winter: Oh no! Power blackout during snowstorm!

Well well, that has been a while! After my hosting days I haven’t done anything for Bookending Winter, but I barely did anything for the blog to be honest. Today I’m back with another prompt, created by Anisa @ A Bookish Bibliophile. I have to admit that the situation in this prompt is quite unfamiliar to me since we barely get snow overhere, let alone a snowstorm.

Review: Nino Haratischwili – The Eighth Life (For Brilka)

The Eighth life (for Brilka) by Nino Haratischwili kept crossing my path for a while now, maybe a year or two, but I never picked it up. Let’s be honest, it’s a beast of a book, the Dutch version has 1,275 pages. The English one is 300 pages shorter – don’t ask me why -, but I wanted to read this family chronicle i my native language. After reading reviews of Haratischwili’s signing sessions in Amsterdam and The Hague back in November, I caved and bought the book and read it soon after.

Review: Tess Gerritsen – The shape of night

Back in 2013, I accidentally discovered the Rizzoli & Isles series by Tess Gerritsen. I really liked these books, which led to me finishing and catching up on the entire series within a year. Besides, I read some other books by this author, with different experiences however. So when I got the chance to get a review copy of The shape of night, I immediately jumped on it out of curiosity.
