After keeping an eye on this meme for a while, I decided that it was finally time to join the bandwagon today.
Top Ten Tuesday is created by Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl and it’s purpose is that you make a top 10 list on Tuesday out of the topics she provides. However, you don’t have to stick exactly to 10, you may also put more or less books/things on the lists. Moreover, you are allowed to give an “unique” spin to the topic whenever that works better for you. Well, let’s move on to this week’s list!
Oh wait, I already have 12 on my first post in this meme, whoops! Today’s theme is: Favourite new to me authors I read in 2018
When I was on holidays back in April, I read They Both Die At The End by Adam Silvera and I was really really surprised. I instantly knew that I wanted to read his other books as well. I read History Is All You Left Me already and More Happy Than Not is still waiting for me. However, I’m not that sure whether I want to read What If It’s Us since I have a feeling that’s too cute and fluffy for me.
Let’s face it: I LOVED Children Of Blood And Bone. Not only for the book, but it was my first ever review copy. I really can’t wait for the sequel.
Yes, in 2018 I read a book by this author for the first time. The Lux series has been translated to Dutch in 2018, so there I went. I love this series and I will definitely read her other books too. I know, there are a lot of them.
REED ROYAL. DO I NEED TO SAY MORE? I never thought that I would actually like this series but yes I do.
I have to admit that I had a hard time getting into An Ember In The Ashes, but since I switched to the English audiobooks, I really like them. I still have to read A Reaper At The Gates though.
Taylor Jenkins Reid
The Seven Husbands Of Evelyn Hugo is my favourite book of 2018 and Daisy Jones & The Six is on pre-order. Is there anything else I need to say?
I never expected to like the Summoner series as much as I actually did. I’m really curious for his new series, releasing in May.
Well, I Was Born For This was the first YA contemporary that I didn’t DNF and did actually like in a veeeeeery long while. I still have to read Radio Silence though – don’t judge me – but I’m sure I will love it.
V. E. Schwab
Yes, 2018 was the year that I finally read A Darker Shade Of Magic. 2019 Is the year these books will FINALLY get their Dutch translations. Oh, I also read A Gathering Of Shadows and City Of Ghosts already.
I know I know, I’m super late to the party, but I finally read the Shatter Me series in 2018 and I loved it. However, Furthermore was not the book for me, but I’m really curious for A very Large Expanse Of Sea. The book is waiting for me and will be read soon.
2018 Was the year I finally started to read Julie Kagawa’s books. I really loved the Talon saga, but was struggling a bit more with Shadow Of The Fox. However, I really liked that book too. In November, I was allowed to interview her, so yay!
Finally, Three Dark Crowns found its way to the Dutch readers and One Dark Throne will follow this April. I’m really curious and looking forward to this sequel!
