It’s the last day of February already, time flies by really. The shortest month of the year has come and gone, and in this month I got myself some neew books.
At first i got myself the last two books in Katherine Arden‘s Winternight trilogy. With a group on Goodreads, we are reading four trilogies a year and this one was the first trilogy of 2020. In January I read The bear and the nightingale, which I already hauled last year. This month it was time to haul The girl in the tower and The winter of the witch to be able to continue reading.
I got surprised with two books this month. I received Where the crawdads sing by Delia Owens and the Dutch thriller De macht van K. by Jens Vern. I read the last one already for a project, but as I don’t review original Dutch books anymore on this blog I won’t publish my review here. Regarding Where the crawdads sing, I’m absolutely not sure what to think of this book. I will let it take me by surprise.
February was the month of the Dutch release of The sun sister by Lucinda Riley. I have been waiting for this book ever since I finished The Moon sister, so it should not be surprising you that I bought this book the moment it was there. Furthermore, I bought myself another Dutch book, a fantasy this time. Abdij van de nacht by Ellis van Zijll. I also realised that it would come in handy to read P.S. I love you by Cecelia Ahern first before reading its sequel which I hauled in January. Finally, I got curious about Unpregnant by Jenni Hendriks & Ted Keplan, which I bought as well.
The last three Dutch books are books I got from this months Bookchoice selection. I’m not that sure about two of them: Private lies by Muna Shehadi and The flatshare by Beth O’Leary. The synopsis of both books makes me quite curious, but they are not on top of mylist. The other book, Perfect remains by Helen fields, is a book I heard a lot about. Time to try that one out myself.
This section mainly consists of books I have been searching for for a while and where now available for a very discounted price. At first, we have Get a life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert. I wanted to read this book for a while now and I even saved it on Scribd. However, I could just not resist an offer for €0.99,- so I bought it. Something similar went down with Crown of feathers by Nicki Pau Preto. It has been on my TBR for over a year, but I never picked it up. I saved it on Storytel, but I cancelled my subscription there. I found this book for less than €5,-, so I figured it was time to get it now. Finally, I bought Stepsister by Jennifer Donnelly. This book will get it’s Dutch release in March, but I know that one will be quite pricy for an ebook. So, I rebelled and bought the English edition for just €3,-.
The final books of this months bookhaul are two new discoveries. Ayesha at last by Uzma Jalaluddin and A good girl’s guide to murder by Holly Jackson. I heard raging stories about the last one, so I’m really curious.
So far, my bookhaul for February. Have you read any of these books?
