(EN) Bookending Spring: Spring Reading List

This is a Bookending Spring post I originally did not intend to write, but as I’m a moodblogger sometimes I was like “why not?” I never work with seasonal TBR’s, but I decided to try it. The prompt was originally created by AJ, but due to circumstances Sam is taking over AJ’s prompts (April 4-7). Without further ado, let’s take a look at my Spring reading list!

I have a long list of books which I want or need to read this Spring. Some of them are review copies, others are for book clubs et cetera. Some of the books are on the list, but I don’t know whether I will be able to read them this season. It’s an ambitious list, especially when working 32 hours a week. Okay, let’s go.

  • A Conjuring Of Light by V. E. Schwab; My current read. However I have more trouble getting into this book than I had with the others in this series.
  • The Shadow Sister by Lucinda Riley; My other current read, which I will be finishing soon.
  • Internment by Samira Ahmed; Samira is coming to YALFest on April 21, so I better have read this book then. It’s the only one I still need to read for this event, so this will happen soon.
  • Eppure Cadiamo Felici by Enrico Galiano; This book is originally Italian and unfortunately doesn’t have an English translation. However, it will have a Dutch one and I’ll be reading this as a buddyread for a book community I’m writing articles on.
  • Dit Is Hoe Het Ging by Astrid Boonstoppel; Another Dutch book which is on my TBR for 2 months now. And everyone rages about it.
  • Mortal Engines by Phillip Reeve; This is for a book club in May.
  • One Dark Throne by Kendare Blake; Another review copy and it finds it’s Dutch release in the end of April.
  • The Chosen by Taran Matharu; A review copy releasing in May.
  • The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter; For the community I mentioned before, we do a series of Throwback Thursday. Mine will be this book because I never read it.
  • Grondvuur by Mirjam Gielen; A Dutch book about WW2 and I will use it for a remembrance post on earlier mentioned community website.
  • Spinning Silver by Naomi Novik; I got this book for another article series where others recommended books.
  • Defy Me by Tahereh Mafi; Do I have to explain this? Really?
  • A Girl Called Shameless by Laura Steven; I am really curious for this book, will be read ASAP!
  • Descendant Of The Crane by Joan He; This book is getting so much hype, wow. I want to know where that hype comes from.
  • A Curse So Dark And Lonely by Brigid Kemmerer; I felt the urge to read this book for a few days now, so let’s do it soon.
  • Nova and Rebel by Rebecca Yarros; I want to continue this series.
  • City Of Glass by Cassandra Clare; I need to get my shit together and continue this series.
  • To Kill A Kingdom by Alexandra Christo; I have this book forever now.
  • Circe by Madeline Miller; Same.
  • The Flight & Glory series by Rebecca Yarros; I think this series really fit the season.

It’s a lot and I hope I can manage all of them for this season, but we will see!

  1. Looks like you have a solid reading list for this spring Laurie! I haven’t read Circe either, but it’s been sitting on my TBR shelf on Goodreads for forever as well so maybe I will waddle to it eventually this year!

I waited for the translation because I had a feeling that this might be somewhat difficult in English

  2. My April list so far is THE DEVOURING GRAY by Christine Lynn Herman, LADY SMOKE by Lauren Sebastian, and maybe a few more. I’m very much a mood reader, so I read what I feel like!

I think this month I’ll finally read something by VE Schwab!

  3. Great list! To Kill a Kingdom is definitely on my tbr but my Spring list is mostly like 99.9999% NetGalley/eARCs, so, I will be waiting lol. I hope you love all the books on your list that you get to!

  4. OOOH To Kill A Kingdom is really good! I didn’t think I would like it but it was a pleasant surprise for me. 😉
I have also been wanting to read A Darker Shade of Magic, Three Dark Crowns, Descendant of the Crane, and A Curse so Dark and Lonely too!
